Tips

Keep loops short — 10–20 seconds is plenty.
No audio track: muted videos are allowed to autoplay, and you save bytes.
Webflow limits background videos to 30 MB — use the Webflow preset under Advanced.
Dark overlays and slow motion hide compression artifacts better than detailed, fast footage.

Questions

Why two files?

WebM (VP9) is smaller and works in Chrome, Edge and Firefox; Safari uses the MP4 fallback.

Why must the video be muted?

Browsers only autoplay videos without sound, and removing the audio track also makes the file smaller.
